Friday already!!!!!!

Hi my lovely friends,

I found some pics for you! The first one is of some trees I took last year when the sun was shining through, love that one! Then the next ones are of the trees I took last week when out walking (all part of my big project at the mo.) The last picture was taken at the end of summer last year when my boys met baby stanley for the first time. That's my little nephew!  He will be one in May! The other boys are as you guessed mine and John's!! Sam and Joe mine and Chris and James are John's - I put the names on the pic in the order that they are sitting on the sofa so you can work out who is who.

I will try and find a nice pic of Emma and one of me and John sometime.

Well guys I have now done half of my essay!!! Yee ha!!! At the moment Ive just written what comes out of my head and so then I will need to look through it and add bits and make it readable! But at least I've made a good start. Anyone who wants to read what Ive written so far let me know and Ill email it to you.  I will email the final one if anyone wants it too. Probably a bit boring for you though!! LOL

Now does anyone know any famous poetry about trees I could put into my essay or a writer or poetic who writes about trees. Stuart?? Thought it might be you! LOL Would appreciate it if anyone could give me some ideas.

John has decided to accept the job pending a few things.  They offered him a package he just could not refuse.  The only risk is that if they dont do well in the next year they could cease to exist but I know John is good and he will make them succeed! Also we wont be getting a company car we will get a car allowance so in affect we will have to buy a car so if the job doesnt work out then we will have a huge debt. Well I think we should go for it.  John has gone up to London this afternoon to see one of their sites and look at how they have put their product into this particular building - if the work is shoddy then John might be put off working for them - he is hoping they have done a good job then it will make his decision and he will tell them he accepts on Monday. Whooooo exciting stuff!!!!  It will be a job that he will be happy in and will givehim a challenge that he has wanted for so long.  Also means he can compete against his old firm!!!

This also means that we dont have to have students anymore!!! We always had them to make us a little extra money but I found it hard work and a bit of an intrusion to our home.  They were lovely, dont get me wrong and we always made them welcome, took them out and it was nice meeting new people. But, I am so relieved and I can have my house to myself for the summer!!! Yeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! Whooopeeeeeee!!!!!! LOL

Anyway, Im babbling again!! Stuart will like that!! Have a good weekend everyone. If I dont manage to comment on your journals over weekend I will on Monday.  I must check all your journals though as I dont seem to be getting alerted for all of them!

Love Laine xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Glad you are making a 'Start with the Essay!
The 'Boys' picture is very good....How did you manage to get them to sit so still (lol)?

How about A Blessing for the Woods a poem by Michael Glaser.

There is a very famous short story by Franz Kafka - my favourite author of all time (this will make you look dead brainy!!!)#

*******************

For we are like tree trunks in the snow. In appearance they lie sleekly and a little push should be enough to set them rolling. No, it can't be done, for they are firmly wedded to the ground. But see, even that is only appearance.

That's it.

I was going to suggest Kafka too.  Robert Frost has "tree words".  Here's a little something I wrote: http://journals.aol.com/gdireneoe/thedailies/entries/1827 ;)  C.  http://journals.aol.com/gdireneoe/thedailies
